Continuous line drawings

In 2018, I started to develop a peculiar drawing style. These continuous line drawings were made with tools that I assembled myself.

Soon after interacting with my customers, I realized I was creating visual sound. Those lines expressed rhythm, movement, and even imaginary tunes.

Instrumental music with a strong bass sound, like surf guitar music, is my most inspirational source.

The way I draw is structured by an intuitive geometrical composition. The creative process requires time on the sketch book, planning, practicing, and memorizing, then I execute each final drawing quickly and assertively on a bigger format.

I use rolling ball tip tools filled with high flow acrylic in order to accomplish these drawings. Paper is my favorite surface to draw on. But mat board not only provides that paper feel, but it also has the sturdiness I need to work with such a liquid acrylic.

The paint is high quality water-based acrylic, matt finish, UV-resistant, and waterproof when dry.

  1. love your work. Saw you at FQF. We bow have a home with walls that we can display artwork on! Yay! Looking for something in the 20″ x 20″ range, either a drummer or a jazz bandvwith a drummer. Can you show me what you have, or how would this work?

    • Hi William,

Thank you so much for reaching out.
It’s great to hear that you have walls ready to display artwork.

Let’s see what I have and/or what I could do.

On my website, under Recent Work, you can see a drummer that is exactly size 20” x 20”. This piece is $350 (domestic shipping included).
When I draw bigger pieces like this one instead of using watercolor paper, I choose mat board (1/10” thick) so it can absorb the high flow acrylic without warping.

If you click on the drummer “Mr. Bongos” on my website, you will see that I like to pair it up with “Four-Legged Banjo” piece.
If you have the space to display them together, I think it would make a wonderful duet.

Let me think of other options.
I will get back to you soon.

      Thank you,

      Laura
